| Objective The aims of this research were:1) to observe the clinical effects of treating climacteric syndrome through kidney, liver, heart ;2) to explore the therapeutic mechanism of this therapy through its effects on Neuroendocrine-immune Network and CGRP & ET。 Methods Our research was based on 60 cases out-patients suffering from climacteric syndrome with the pathogenesis of deficiency of kidney-yin and liver-yin and breakdown of normal physiological coordination between heart and kidney. They were randomly divided into two groups in the propotion of 2 to 1. Among which, 40 cases served as the experimental group treated with Chinese herbs functioned as replenishing kidney and nourishing liver, restoring normal coordination between the heart and the kidney, the other 20 cases went into the control group treated with Geng Nian An tablet. We evaluated all patients' Kupperman scores and syndrome integrals separately before the research and after one course of treatment (one month). At the same time, 20 cases of the experimental group and 10 cases of the control group were randomly sampled as test group 1 and test group 2, which were used to detect the concentrition of E2, FSH, LH, CGRP, ET, β-EP, IL-2 in the blood . Results 1. clinical effects: the curative effect rate, the conspicuous effect rate, the effective rate and the total effective rate of the experimental group was respectively 7.5%, 50%, 42.5% and 100%. The curative effect rate, the conspicuous effect rate, the effective rate and the total effective rate of the control group was separately 0%, 30%, 40% and 70%. There were significant statistical differences in the clinical effects of this two groups. 2. Kupperman scores inprovement: compared with that in the control group, the inprovement of Kupperman scores in the experimental group was very significant. 3. Syndrome integrals improvement: the syndrome integrals in both groups were inproved. The inprovement in the experimental group was more apparent than the control group. 4. In improving the patients' symptoms such as hot flashes, excessive sweats, dizziness, headache, palpitation, flushed face, insomnia, menstrual changes, restlessness, lassitude in the loins and knees, irritability, distending pain in the hypochondrium and bitter taste in the mouth, the experimental group was better than the control group. There were significant statistical differences in these two groups. The experimental group showed especially better effets in alleviating symptoms such as hot flashes, excessive sweats, dizziness, headache, palpitation, flushed face, insomnia than the control group. 5. In the experimental group, there were no significant statistical differences among the patients with different ages and courses of diseases. The clinical effects of patients suffering from mild climacteric syndrome was better than those patients with moderate and severe climacteric syndrome. 6. In test group 1, after treatment, the concentrition of FSH, LH in the blood was significantly lowered, while the concentrition of E2 in the blood was significantly raised. 7. In test group 1, after treatment, the concentrition of CGRP in the blood was remarkblely reduced. But there was no significant statistical difference in the concentrition of ET in the blood before and after treatment. 8. In test group 1, the concentrition of β-EP in serum was significantly evaluated after treatment. 9. In test group 1, the concentrition of IL-2 in plasma was significantly evaluated after treatment. 10. During the research, no side effects were found in both groups. Conclusions 1. Climacteric syndrome corresponds to syndromes around menopause in TCM. Professor xiao believes that the pathogenesis of this disease is yin deficiency in kidney and liver, and breakdown of normal physiological coordination between heart and kidney. Directed by this theory, she treats climacteric syndrome by replenishing kidney and nourishing liver, restoring normal coordination between the heart and the kidney. Thus the kidney water is getting richer and richer, a... |
