Compound Coptis Cream In The Treatment Of Psoriasis Blood-heat Syndrome Of Clinical And Experimental Research

Psoriasis is a common chronic, recurrent, inflammatory disease of the skin. Anepidemiological survey of our country showed that the incidence of psoriasis in our country is0.123%. Moreover, there are more than 100000 people develop PS every year. As the serioussituation of industrialization, and environmental contamination, the number of PS patients isincreasing. There is not any breakthrough in the therapy to PS with both TCM and Western medicine.In Western medicine, the curative effect in the near future is satisfied, but with long-termtoxicity and side effect. Treatment for psoriasis with traditional Chinese medicines is of manyadvantages. But there is not enough study and products in clinic, especially for external use. We got the extractions of 3 herbs which are main ingredients in fufanghuanglianCream,using the culture of human transformed keratinocyte cell line Colo-16 cells as a model, to studytheir effect on the growth of KC. The data of the study suggested that the 3 herbs that we testedcould restrain the proliferation of KC. We also sued of mouse-tail scale epidermis to study the effects of Fufanghuanglian Cream.The data of the study suggested that Fufanghuanglian Cream induce the formation of a granularlayer in mouse-tail scale epidermis where none previously existed. Fufanghuanglian Creammight treat psoriasis in theory by returning the parakeratinization to normal keratinization. According to the GUIDELINES FOR NEW DRUG CLINICAL TRIALS, we designed theclinical trials by means of random and control allocation. Fufanghuanglian Ointment is used ascontrol drug. Comparative study on the effect and side effect between FufanghuanglianOintment and Fufanghuanglian Cream was carried out. 60 patients completed the survey, 30 in Fufanghuanglian Cream group and 30 in controlgroup. There is no significant difference in gender, age, course, lesions forming ratio andgeneral health et al. After two months' treatment, the PASI scores on lesions of the two groupsare different significantly from those two months ago. The clinical healing rate is up to 13.3%,total effect rate is 73.3% in Fufanghuanglian Cream group; While in control group is 16.7% and80% respectively. There is not remarkable difference between the two groups. There is notsevere side effect observed. In summery, it is concluded that the Fufanghuanglian Cream is effective. Furthermore, it isworthy to be studied deeply.
