| General medicine is the outcome of development of modern medicine, the appearanceof which makes up for the deficiency of specialty medicine, helps to transform the medicalmodel, and has made great contribution to the development of primary health services inall countries. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) originated from primary health services,and general medicine is one of its important characteristics in academy and service model.By means of studying the literature concerning Qian Jin Fang, this study is to explore thethoughts of general medicine in TCM, to take advantage of and integrate the philosophyand approaches in general medicine, to further enrich and improve the unique feature ofgeneral medicine, and to lay a solid foundation for the framework of the completely newdiscipline-general medicine in TCM.By comparing the different medical theories between general medicine and TCM andtracing the cultural foundation and theoretical background of the general medical thoughtsin TCM, this study is to explore the characteristics and advantages of the general medicalthoughts in TCM. With Qian Jin Fang as the research object, this study employs thetraditional literature approaches and systemizes the literature with the thoughts of generalmedicine. The features of the study are as follows:1) exploring the general medicalthoughts in the literature in Sui and Tang dynasties and the time prior to that, the key ofwhich is to "discuss" to form the viewpoint;2) analyzing the general medicinal thoughts inTCM literature in Sui and Tang dynasties with Qian Jin Fang as a representative, the keyof which is to "state" to explore such thoughts.The study shows that the general medical thoughts originated in Huang Di Nei Jing,had its basic framework in Sui and Tang dynasties with Qian Jin Fang as its representativeworks. The general medical thoughts in TCM is reflected in the following ten views: agreat physician having both superb medical skills and good medical ethics, the holism of man and nature, life of body and spirit interdependence, the equilibrium between yin andyang, diseases having both internal and external causes, treatment based on syndromedifferentiation, prevention prior to the occurrence of diseases, attaching equal importanceto medicine and foods, balancing both the body and the spirit, employing both acupunctureand medicines to cure diseases. The medical thoughts reflected in Qian Jin Fang is inaccordance with the brilliant "people-oriented" principle, involves the different fields ofprevention, treatment, health cultivation, health education, recovery and medical ethics,and demonstrates the unique understanding of general medicinal thoughts in TCM in over1,300years ago. |
