The Research On Endogenous Value Assessment Based On Patent Portfolio Of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Along with the transformation of the mode of global economic growth, intellectual property based on patent has basically become a kernal competitive power. With thousands of years of accumulation of technique and knowledge, Traditional Chinese Medicine has been proved to be a most promising domestic industry by its glory of achievements. How to manage and develop these intangible assets is a critical problem we have to face. Accordingly, the paper uplifts some views on how to efficiently excavate and assess the true value of patents.In order to explore the phenomena of symbiosis and cluster in patent field, patent portfolio was analyzed and discussed firstly, then the design thought of the patent portfolio was introduced comprehensively, a case of patent portfolio was presented as well.It can be found that,as a senior form of intellectual output of technical projects, patent portfolio is much more efficient in protection of the core technology by increasing the value of patents hereof, from time and space dimensions. By use of patent portfolio, the administrative cost could be reduced, the diseconomy caused by patent congregation could be overcomed partly, executives'strategic plan could be put in IP mangement parctice more effectively.Based on the theoretical origin, this thesis analyzed and generalized three value modalities including technique, legal rights and market, for the purpose of further research on patent value. The determining factors and characteristics of these patent values were unveiled emphatically.Then, through Cost-Profit Patent Value model and Conduction Chain mechanism of Patent Value, we confirmed the existence of endogenous value of patent which constitutes the overall value together with utilization value. The theory of Patent endogenous value not only directs us to the precise and scientific study of patent value, but also provides the theoretical refinements of patent asset appraisal practice.Then, the endogenous value theory was quantitatively discussed to a certain depth. Instead of empty talk in academic context, we began to give a quantitive evaluation research on endogenous value based on patent portfolio, the whole theroy of which revolved around TCM patent. On the basis of literatures review, a scientific mutilple-sided comprehensive assessment system of patent endogenous value was built up, and the accessible hierarchical indicators of synthetical assessment were selected and defined characteristically from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives correspondingly.By comparative analysis of index-evaluating methods in existence, we chose Fuzzy mathematical assessment approach to build model and process data based on TCM patent portfolio. Analytic Hierarchy Process was used to compute the respective weights of the indicators of this system. After a train of theoretical deduction, analysis by synthesis and case study, we found the truth below. The application of the assessment system offered the scientific and rational, easily-handled quantitative measures in view of the practical situation for patent value management.Furthermore, it is very significant in doctrinal innovations and will promote the development of abstract research on patent value.
