Magnet design is one of the primary tasks of strong electric field. With the development of superconducting technology, the application of superconducting magnet has won great development. Superconducting magnet not only has been replacing the role of general magnet in some fields but also open some new fields which general magnet unable to achieve. The design of superconducting magnet need to solve a series of deeper related problems together with general magnets.This paper starts with the fundamental problems of superconducting magnet design, combining with the electromagnetic properties of superconducting materials, and elaborates the characteristic and the basic steps of the design process. Meanwhile, a set of targeted analysis method on superconducting magnet coupling of multi-fields has been put forward. Based on the method, this paper designs and analyze multiple superconducting magnet problems, and then discover and solve a series of specific problems. The concrete works are as followed.1. The main problems and relationships concerning with the electromagnetic design of superconducting magnet has been analyzed. Combing with the electromagnetic properties of HTS tape, the method to obtain critical current of superconducting magnet has been conferred and the fundamental methods of the optimization design of superconducting magnet have been coordinated.2. The concepts and contents of multi-fields coupling analysis have been introduced. The difficulties faced by the multi-fields coupling analysis have been analyzed. The essay provides targeted method to solve the difficulties with the use of ANSYS Software and lay a foundation for the research of the superconducting magnet engineering practical problems.3. The working principle of voltage compensating HTS current limiter has been introduced. The performance of current limiter influenced by the parameter of HTS air-core transformer has been analyzed. The electromagnetic design on HTS air-core transformer has been made combing with parameter of the dynamic simulating.The electromagnetic character and thermal behavior of HTS air-core transformer has been analyzed. The stability of transformer influenced by Magnitude and phase of the compensating current has been analyzed. The measures to improve the thermal stability of the magnet has been proposed. The conclusion has instructive meaning on the design and control of current limiter.4. The method of improving pulsed current output of HTS magnet adopting superconducting air-core transformer has been put forward. Based on the method of theoretic analysis and experiment research, the feasibility and superiority of pulsed HTS air-core transformer is verified.To eliminate the residual current in the process of discharging, the model of self-coupling type pulsed output of HTS magnet has been put forward and verified. The conclusion lay a solid foundation for the HTS technology in the application of the field of pulsed power.5. The reason and regularity of inductance variation of HTS magnet has been researched, and new requirement for the veracity in the process of superconducting magnet's design has been claimed.6. Generating reason of circular current in the superconducting magnet parallel winding has been analyzed, and the method of inhibiting circular current adopting asymmetrical inductor in parallel winding has been put forward.7. The layout pattern of decreasing and even eliminating flux coupling among magnets has been put forward, and the feasibility is verified by the method of emulation.
