Research On China’s Energy Security Strategies From The Perspective Of Economic Globalization

Oil has been always the core of the energy strategies all over the world. New words such as low-carbon economy, Copenhagen meeting, green new policy and new energy found in the media show the meaning of energy problem. In the modern economic globalization, energy safety is an important part of national security system. The nature of energy security is to obtain an eternal, safe and useful energy supply under a range of equilibrium price to meet the development of national economy and social lives.China has been confronted with a serious circumstance of energy security. There are a lot of challenges in the energy field:the huge consumption of energy contrast with the low GDP energy unit; the increasing pressure of sustainable energy supply, and the high bottleneck of resource supply; the high dependence on energy with the rapid economic and social development. Energy security, especially oil secutity becomes more and more serious.The thesis includes three parts:introduction, body and conclusion, of which the body part is divided into five chapters.In the beginning of the thesis, the significance of energy security in theory and practice was explored, which was the subject of thesis; then current situation of general research and review on energy security at home and abroad was introduced; Finally, research contents, research methods and innovation of the whole thesis was detailed.The first chapter discussed the meaning and theoretical basis of energy security. The evolution of the concept of energy security was described. The various definitions on energy security from home and abroad were analyzed. And the meaning of energy security in this thesis was proposed; then the theoretical basis of energy security issue was described including sustainable development theory, international security theory, economic security theory, national interest theory, low-carbon economy and geopolitical theory.The second chapter discussed the status of China’s energy security. The historical evolution of China’s energy security was introduced. Then the current status of China’s energy security was analyzed. At last there was an empirical analysis of China’s current energy system.The third chapter was on China’s energy security issues and their implications. Firstly, the current major problems of China’s energy security were brought out. Secondly, China’s energy security on the structure of national economy, the economic development prospect, economic trade development, international environment, the external strategy, sustainable development and other aspects were analyzed.Chapter Four was to investigate the energy security strategy all over the world. The United States, Japan, Russia, EU countries were chosen as the research objects in this chapter. Measures and characteristics of national energy security strategies of these countries were analyzed. And relevant experience was summarized which was related inspiration for China’s development of energy security strategies.Chapter Five was on construction of China’s energy security strategy system. The vision of globalization should be considered in choice of China’s energy security strategies. The situation of the global energy security should be fully understood. In reference to experiences from foreign countries, combined with China’s unique conditions, the energy security strategy system should be built from the perspective of domestic and overseas.Concluding remarks were summarized and future research prospects were proposed at last. Global economic integration made energy security faced with a series of new challenges. The maintenance of effective national energy security policy measures should be taken from the domestic and overseas angles.
