Being an innovative strategic production of China, the technical economics andmanagement discipline (TEM) undertakes great responsibility of social economicdevelopment. Science research agglomeration, which being as the impetus of thediscipline’s self-organizing, is of great significance on the development of discipline.Whether the rules of science research agglomeration of TEM discipline can be revealed,is related to the researchers’ innovative performance and personnel training, has a bearingon TEM discipline’s self-organizing as well as the improvement of the countries researchstrength and sustainable development of economic society. The general and the specialconcepts of science research agglomeration are being defined, based on which the modelsare also constructed, and by using the database of TEM discipline’s science researchagglomeration(TDSD), the empirical researchs of investigating the TEM’s scienceresearch agglomeration rules and the testing of hypothesis of the conceptual model arebeing done. The works of the thesis are as follow:1. The general and the special concepts of science research agglomeration are beingdefinedBased on the logic analysis of the agglomeration characteristics of science researchbehavior and the literatures review related to the research agglomeration, the generalconcepts of science research agglomeration is being condensed, and derived from it thespecial conceptual of science research agglomeration is being defined, which is directbased on the researches of Salvador(2013) and Saublen(2008) and is similar to Liyanage’s(1995) the description of research cluster.2. The GC-SRA model and SC-SRA model are designedBy using the Kranich model and Baldwin model as referential and combining the CPmodel and the Schumpter model, of which the former is originated from the NEG theoryand the later from the endogenous growth theory, the GC-SRA model and the SC-SRAmodel are constructed, which is based on the Krugman(1991a) work. And the researchhypothesis system is being constructed.3. The agglomeration modes and one evoluation routes of the TEM discipline’sscience research agglomeration are discoveredBased on the SC-SRA model, first of all, by using the quantile statistics, the dynamicprogress trends of the TEM discipline’s science research agglomeration are beingrevealed; later on, the special agglomeration rules of which are being uncovered by usingthe spatial autocorrelation analysis tool, as well as the cumulative agglomeration indexand the time-sequential index. That the five agglomeration modes and one evoluation route of agglomeration, as well as the conditions of Hypothesis c.2and c.3are thefindings of such work, and also is the revision of parameters in Krugman’s(1991a) model.The schemas of science research agglomeration of the doctors in TEM discipline arerevealed by using the word frequency analysis method which based on the overall analysis,and the analysis of the special agglomeration characteristics as well as the time evolutionrules.4. The mechanisms of funds and science cooperation on the TEM discipline’sscience research agglomeration are foundedBased on the SC-SRA model, by using the KPF and the panel data model, theaffection of funding on the TEM discipline’s science research agglomeration is analyzed,and the Hypothesis testing is done while the conditions of Hypothesis a are found. Fromthe view of city-province-region dimension, the rules of the researchers’ transition by theaffection of research collaboration on the TEM discipline’s science researchagglomeration are being revealed, and as well, the hypothesis in SC-SRA model is beingtested while the conditions of Hypothesis b is also found by using the gravity theory andthe panel data model.The works of this thesis contribute to deep insights of the rules of TEM discipline’sscience research agglomeration, and provide new threads of the theory research on suchscientific problem, and which are of great importance in the development of TEMdiscipline, also can support the science research decision making of the government’sfunding agency as well as the scientific researchers.
