We comply and research relevant the data to discover and outline the characteristics and the regulation of Chinese ancient medical education.Chinese ancient medical education can be divided into two kinds of modes include private education and official education. Medical private education includes succeeding from special teacher and private school. Medical official education includes central official education and provincial official education.There wasn't medical official education before Two Jin-South and North Dynasties, but really exist education behavior concerning medical science. Appearing from South and North Dynasties, through Sui Tang's high development, medical official education achieved the peak in North Sung dynasty. Medical education had some partial development and change in Yuan-Ming-Qing period. Because succeeding from special teacher fits together with the academic characteristics of TCM, it occupies an important position in educational history of TCM, not only contributes a lot for development of TCM in history, but also has useful effort today.Succeeding from special teacher couldn't be replaced by school education at the Chinese ancient times; this comes from theory and technical special relation of TCM. Sung dynasty after, Confucianism had more and more influence. Doctors with a higher educational level usually valued succeed and interpretation of TCM theory to find principle and rule with absolute guiding significance. This contributed to establish important position of classic book such as "Nei Jing" etc on the one hand; there was unavoidable gay from medical theories to clinical practice on the other hand. This would also produce certain influence to medical education (private education and official education).Chinese ancient medical education was not only influenced by substitute of dynasty and emperor's preferences and abhorrence, but also influenced by academic rise and fall and technical innovation, even at some expect at that time, it came to be a decision factor of the rise and fall with medical education.
