Acquiring dynamic information at cellular and molecular levels becomes more and more important in biomedical science. The sub-cellular and molecular images of a sample can be obtained using the technique of fluorescence labeling. It can provide important information for the study of the physiology of living creatures and the mechanism of diseases. To satisfy the requirement of observing and recording the dynamic fluorescence image of living cells, we have developed a novel fast-fluorescence imaging and analyzing system which used a CCD based imaging module of digital camera as the sensor, and combined with the techniques of photoelectric transducer, digital signal processing, information storage, and computer hardware & software. The established system is computer controlled, has high ratio of performance to cost, high spatial & temporal resolutions, with simple interface and ability to perform different fluorescence signal measurements. This system has the follow characteristics:1. With high spatial resolutions (6 million pixels);2. With sensitivity for fluorescence imaging on biological sample;3. With temporal resolutions & 50fps(at spatial resolutions 600×800);4. With image adjustment, such as saturation, white balance and contrast;5. With option for different capturing modes;6. With options for size of image, frame rate of video, and recording duration;7. With USB 2.0 interface connectable to any kinds of computer.Using the fast fluorescence imaging and analyzing system, we have also investigated the technique and methods for fluorescence imaging on the interested molecules in living red blood cells (RBC). The molecules were labeled with FITC-SNA and Quantum Dot (QD), the effect of the fluorescence probes on the...
