The severe thoracic gunshot wounds may include the penetrating wounds in heart and lung, which would cause massive hemorrhage, lead to the dysfunction of heart and lung. The wounded person often died within several minutes. Therefore, it is meaningful to maintain the circulatory and respiratory function in the early stage of the severe thoracic wound. No studying report on the treatment of thoracic gunshot wound with emergency extracorporeal circulation was found to date. In order to finish parts of military JiuWu dictating subject, this experiment established the animal model of severe lung and heart gunshot wound, investigated the effect of emergency extracorporeal circulation and other early treatment methods. This experiment aimed to study the characters of penetrating wounds on lung and heart, and the early treatment methods.There are two parts in this experiment. In the first part, we study the effects of emergency extracorporeal circulation on the lung gunshot wounds near hilus and the choice of mechanical ventilation. Eighteen dogs were on average divided into control group, volume control group and PEEP group at random. The dogs were shot in the right lung near the hilus after anesthesia.
