| Salvianolic acids are isolated from Chinese traditional drug — Salvia miltriorrhiza. In present experiments, Salvianolic acid A (Sal A), Salvianolic acid B (Sal B), Rosmarine acid (Ros) and their synthetic derivatives, acetyl salvianolic acid A (Sal AA) and acetyl salvianolic acid B (Sal BA), were studied in several aspects as follows:1. Antioxidative and scavenging free radicals effects.1.1 Inhibitory effects of salvianolic acids on the rat brain and liver microsome lipid peroxidation.Salvianolic acids could inhibit the lipid-peroxidation caused by Vit C—NADPH system and cysteine—Fe2+ system. Their IC50 in these experiments were Sal A 0.76, Sal AA 2.32, Sal B 1.25, Sal BA 36.4, Ros 27.3 μ mol · L-1. Especially in the cysteine — Fe2+ system, the inhibitory effects of salvianolic acids were stronger than that of vitamin E . The concentration of Sal A was about 1000 times lower than that of Vit. E at the same inhibitory effects in Vit. C—NADPH system.1.2 Scavenging free hydroxyl radical effects.Salvianolic acids have strong scavenging effects on hydroxyl free radical generated in EDTA — Fe2+ system. Compared with the known compound — mannitol, the concentration of Sal A is 1000... |
