Low back pains and sciatica caused by lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is the most common disease in China and the incidence in the population is around 15%. Conventional treatments include traditional Chinese medicine, massage, acupuncture, acupotomy and surgery operation. In the past ten years, intradiscal ozone injection developed in Eroupe countries has showed the advantages of minimum trauma, and no side effects, and effective, and with high success rate (more than 80%) as compared with other minimally invasive therapies such as chemonucleolysis and percutaneous discectomy. Our results suggested that we try this therapeutic strategy to treat such big population of the patients in China. The clinical research results are described in the following three parts.[Objective)1. To analyse the clinical therapeutic effective rates in the treatment of three kindsof LDH by intradiscal O3 injection2. To compare the curative effect in the treatment of LDH with varying medical O3concentration and varying anti-inflammatory and Pain-killer drugs3.
