Clinical Studies Of Ozone-Oxygen Mixture To Treat Lumbar Disc Herniation

Low back pains and sciatica caused by lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is the most common disease in China and the incidence in the population is around 15%. Conventional treatments include traditional Chinese medicine, massage, acupuncture, acupotomy and surgery operation. In the past ten years, intradiscal ozone injection developed in Eroupe countries has showed the advantages of minimum trauma, and no side effects, and effective, and with high success rate (more than 80%) as compared with other minimally invasive therapies such as chemonucleolysis and percutaneous discectomy. Our results suggested that we try this therapeutic strategy to treat such big population of the patients in China.
