Although new immunodepressants constantly emerge, it is still completely inevitable rejection response afer transplantion. Inducing transplant antigen of specific immunotolerance may be an essential method to solve this problem. Immune tolerance had been successfully induced in rat, yet its effect on human being remains unsatisfactory. Human bing has strong immune defense system, so it is not easy to truly induce donor-specific immune tolerance in human body. However, it may be possible to induce a clinical state of "almost tolerance". Liver has unique immune character comparing to other organs. Liver can persists in its normal function without any immunodepressants for patients who transplanted part of liver. So it is still the key point for organ transplantation to look for a middle state between "immune" and "tolerance", a ideal state of "almost tolerance". Today drugs and plans of immune tolerance used in the clinic still have some deficiency. Therefore, it is becoming the hot issues in clinical transplantation field to look for effective, low-toxicity and cheap immunodepressants. Recently some Chinese herbal medicines had been found to have the function of immunodepression. For example, glycoside of tripterygium wilfordii (GTW) is an effective component refracted and isolated from tripterygium wilfordii hookf, a plant of celastraceae. In this study, we investigated the functional mechanisms of GTW against acute rejection response in rat orthotopic liver transplantation model and observed the acting effect of GTW combining with CsA, in order to provide experimental evidence for clinical drug administration. |
