| Background Tracheobronchoplastic and angioplastic procedures including sleeve lobectomy have evolved as an alterative topneumonectomy in carefully selected case of bronchial carcinoma, especially for centrally located lesion. But long-term results after these proceedings remain controversial, especially in relation to nodal involvement. Methods IN the present study, results were analyzed in 71 patients undergoing tracheobronchoplastic or angioplastic proceedings during 1980-1992.They represented our total experience with these proceedings, special attention was given to survival in relation to lymph node involvement. Results For the whole group,3, 5, 10-year survival rates were 58%, 42%, 19 % respectively. The medium survival time was 45.76 months.3, 5, 10-year survival rates for the 21 patients with N0 disease were 82%, 56% , 29 % respectively. For the 30 patients with N, disease,56%, 39% , 21 % respectively, and for the 20 patients with N2 disease,21 %, 12 % , 0 %.There was highly significant difference in survival between each subgroups. |
