Background Hypothalamus plays a central role in the regulation of body metabolism; its main function is to the sensitivity of a certain material incentive and the effect of delivering the neurotransmitters to regulate the body metabolism;Up to the present, above important function has not getten the sufficient research proof yet. The fMRJ is current the most popular and the most future investigative field in the brain science and the clinical science through the world. By fMRI, mankind first can "see" direct brain's activity to regulate body metabolism in the science history. This research project will apply the fMRI technique to study the sensitivity of hypothalamus's influence to glucose tolerance in different weights (the overweights and the normal weights); and combinative application of the PCR technique will be used to study the effect of above variety appearance to influence the neurotransmitter's releasing of hypothalamus so as to clarify the possible variety of hypothalamus's effect. The series of fMRI data analysis and data processe technique will be established and optimized in order to offer the direct experiment basis and technique means for further studying the relation between the abnormality of glucose tolerance regulated by the central nervous system and diseases.
