The social culture of Song dynasty are prosper, extensive application of printing technique brought big development of books business, mature of civil service exam made education universal. The direct consequence was the Song dynasty became a liberal times of medical text: the category and quantity of medical books increased, the person wrote medical books increased, and more people interpreted and researched ancient books. All these became significant factor affecting the transformation of ancient TCM in Song dynasty.Studying from family and special teacher had been the most popular way conveying knowledge of TCM. But in Qin and Han period, there were different medical clique; every clique had their own special way studying medical knowledge. Henceforth, along with declining of different medical clique, the way studying medical knowledge became wide. Because of development of official medical education in song dynasty, improvement of doctors' educational level and increasing of books, medicine went to the direction of placing importance on medical books and theories.Before song dynasty, medicine social had certain distance with great tradition because the medicine was only skill. But behind song period, orthodox medical science became a part of great tradition following the development of social culture and promotion of government and gentry,which made great and far-reaching influence on the development of medicine.Hua Tuo and Zhang Zhongjing were all famous doctors in Later Handynasty, and Hua Tuo had great fame than Zhang Zhongjing. But behind Song dynasty, Zhang Zhongjing became saint in medicine, and the theory of Huo Tuo almost lost, the greatest reason were that more Confucianbecame doctors, the whole quality of doctors improved and more study on theory brought re-evaluation on classics, and reconstruction of sage pedigree also.The most consequent change was the transition of experienced medical science, it include final establishment of theories system, tending to stagnant and indistinct of development of medical academic branch and fixing of pharmic mode.
