The forecast models and related expert system for forecast the community populations and occurring time of Myrmeleotettix palpates Zubovsky, Chorthippus, Angaracris rhodopa (F.-W.)and Angaracris barabensis (Pall.), were set up with the investigated data from 1989 to 1995 through in this research in order to improve the grasshopper control. The research area was located in Ganjia grassland where the necessary basic research work has been down and Matlab and SPSS and related mathematical methodology were used in the research. The established forecast models were validated and statistically analyzed with the data of occurring species and their populations that were investigated in 6 habitats (steppe meadow, steppe, alpine meadow, salinized meadow, mountain meadow, swampy meadow) from April to October in 2000, 2001 and 2002 respectively. The results indicated that:1) Based on the investigated occurring population and degree of presence, it was identified that the dominant species were Myrmeleotettix palpates Zubovsky, Chorthippus dubius Zubovsky, Chorthippus dubius (Zubovsky), Angaracris rhodopa (F.-W.) and Angaracris barabensis (Pall.).2) The average precipitation and the average temperature in spawned stage in previous year, the average temperature and the average precipitation in spawned stage in current year are key factors for forecasting the occurring degree of grasshopper..3) The mathematical model for occurring population forecast of Myrmeleotettix palpates Zubovsky, Chorthippus dubius Zubovsky, Chorthippus dubius(Zubovsky), Angaracris rhodopa(¥.-W.) , Angaracris barabensis (Pall.) and their mixed population could be described as:where:yn means the peak of n generation (year as the unit, head/m2);x1 means the average precipitation in spawned stage in previous year (mm);X2 means the average temperature in the previous year (℃);x3 means the average temperature in spawned stage in current year(℃);x4 means the average precipitation in hatching period in current year (head/m2).
