Integration of product family design and robust design is an feasible way to solve problems that how to improve product quality, shorten development cycle and satisfy requirement from Customer, we research on one of the problems of mechanical product robust design—robust design technologies for mechanical product family, The main work of dissertation is dissertated in the followings:Chapter 1 gives the reviews of product family design, robust design and integration of them, the shortage of present research is proposed, and the research content and architecture of the dissertation is presented.Chapter 2 discuss the fundamental of robust design, on the basis of this, the theory architecture of robust design for product family was advanced. It synthesize multi-attribute group decision making, response surface methodology, multi-response optimization, product platform design theories, the theory was used for deciding what product was provided by enterprise, response surface methodology and multi-response optimization were used for robust design of product family.Chapter 3 puts forward quality characteristics evaluation and choice methods by multi-attribute group decision making, the decision making model synthesize linguistic variable transformation, eigenvector method, entropy method, technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), Borda function. Decision making model may give attention to two aspects opinions from product designer and product customer, so result was well and truly.Chapter 4 study of experimental design in robust design, it is the basis of response surface method for robust design. Dissertation discussed experimental design in detail, including orthogonal design and uniform design. According to contribution ratio analysis principle in statistics, contribution ratio analysis method of design elements based on orthogonal experiment design was gave, it may decide what kind of design element is import.Chapter 5 puts forward robust design method for multi-quality characteristics based on response surface methodology and multi-response optimization technologies, each quality characteristic was fit by response surface, uniform design was applied in experimental design of response surface method, multi-responses were optimized through the desirability function approach, in the light of optimization result, the product platform was established.Chapter 6 give a case of robust design technologies for mechanical product family. A typical product, three plunger high pressure reciprocating pump was taken for example to validate the key technologies robust design for mechanical product family in this dissertationChapter 7 summarizes the dissertation and prospects the future research work.
