China is one of the most widely distributed desert countries,and covers an area of 1.568 million square kilometers desertification land,of which about 808,900 square kilometers is desert area.Especially in the Xinjiang region,the desert area is about 539,300 square kilometers,and the saline weak soil occupies about 158,300 square kilometers.The degree of salinification can be classified as medium,strong, and excessive.These areas generally lack road constructing materials such as gravel, which needed to be gathered from 100 kilometers away,so the building cost would be expensive.Therefore,the Xinjiang region had to adopt local saline soil as subgrade material.However,the saline soil subgrade has faults such as instability,cracking, water collapse,and so on.The road sections with serious diseases use to be blocked as well.In spite of a great deal fund had been used to maintain annually,the freely vehicle flowing didn't been ensure.So it is urgent in Xinjiang region to research in the saline area road and study the aeolian sand property,and it is significant to apply the aeolian sand in the road construction.It will be provided with huge economic benefits and great social effects.This article elaborated on the theories of the aeolian sand particle analysis, mineral composition,salinification,shear properties,load ratio,compression characteristics,relative density,resilient modulus,and capillary water height. Through a large number of laboratory tests,scene simulation tests,and road tests,the aeolian sand road performance and the technical parameters were gotten,on which a filling roadbed to deal with the weak grass-roots level and the cutting off layer,or cushion road grassroots theory based.Through the experimental data regression analysis,the regression equation was established,and through the mathematical model analysis,the building of the replacement thickness,subgrade reasonable height, cutting off thickness,thickness of the road,embankment slope stability calculation formula came into being.Then,a set of technology about aeolian sand performance research and application in the saline area road forms here.Following are the emphasis of the thesis:trying to know and master the road practical utility property of the aeolian sand,especially using the aeolian sand to deal with the salt bulging,the weak foundation,and the water capillary rise cutting,and serve as the basic level or the bottom layer of the road construction.Making use of the aeolian sand to build road is an effective way to adequately utilize the local resources,protect the ecological environment,reduce the building cost,steady the roadbed,and strengthen the intensity of the road surface.According to the research and study of the test and spreading road section,it is proved that the result of this thesis is in coincidence with the practice test result,which certificates the reliability and the applicability of the research results.A number of results of this thesis have been turned into some parts of the research results of the subjects of China's western region "desert highway construction technology package",which have been authenticated by specialists and successfully applied in road construction about 1573.70 kilometers,the total length of 11 roads in the Xinjiang region.
