A Research On The Impact Of The Western Contemporary Art On Interior Design

The thesis studied the development of western contemporary art in the second half of the twentieth century and its impact on interior design creativity, analyzed and summarized the various possibilities of interior design creativity under the impact of art concepts, art languages and artistic expressions practices in contemporary art, so as to enlighten the theory and practice of interior design in china.In recent years, interior design as a relatively independent discipline has developed rapidly and made great achievements, whether in higher education or industry practice. However, in the course of development, interior design has met with many problems which need to be ulteriorly discussed and researched, such as the development direction of interior design, the creativity of interior design, the perception and rational of interior design, the social responsibility of interior design, and so on."By other's faults, wise men correct their own." Current scientific research encourages cross-cutting interdisciplinary research. The thesis chose to start from contemporary art, and researched the development of contemporary art and its impact on interior design, in order to seek the way to the problems which occurred during the development of interior design.Considering the continuity of art development, the thesis analyzed the modern art and its impact on interior design at first, and then elaborated on the development of contemporary art, the integration with contemporary art and life, the diversification of contemporary art, and the feature of art essence, then discussed interior design ideas promoted by contemporary art concept. On this basis, the thesis focused abstract expressionism, pop art, minimalism, and concept art, analyzed their idea of art, repressentative, and important works, specificly researched their impact on interior design creativity. The thesis also took time as the axis, researched the performance of contemporary art and interior design at different times, as to find their interaction. Finally, the thesis made a summary of the research, and made the author's personal views, and pointed out the direction of follow-up research.
