Alert material, also called intelligent material, refers to such material which can imitate organism and has the abilities of irritability and control as well. It's a kind of functional material which has double abilities of transducer or action. It can produce coupling behaviors between electricity,magnetism,heat,mechanical movement,sound,light,chemistry and rheology. The alert structure can be formed when alert material is combined with specific structure. GSIFCON is a typical kind of alert material. The main contents studied in this dissertation may be summarized as follows:1. SIFCON is modified successfully and GSIFCON from the modified SIFCON has alert abilities, such as electricity, magnetism, heat etc. It also keeps the high mechanics properties of SIFCON.2. The laws of GSIFCON resistivity change under AC and DC power are studied. The test results indicate that, when the conducting phases exceed their percolation values,the effects of AC and DC power on the GSIFCON resistivities are very weak and AC and DC power can be used interchangeably.3. The temperature rising tests are made and at normao temperature the tentative regularities of the temperature rising of GSIFCON are proposed. The test shows that, when the conducting phases exceed their low percolation values, the electothermal power of GSIFCON increases rapidly with the rising of voltage. When the voltage goes up 1 V, the electothermal power inreasea 2 times and the temperature rising speed increases 3 times.4. The general law of alert abilities of GSIFCON under uniaxia pressure is given through the piezo-test. The test proves that the relative variations of GSIFCON resistance have good one-to-one correspondences with their destroy processes.5. For investigating the sensitivities of GSIFCON to the destroy processes of the normal concretebeams and reinforced concrete beams, the concrete beams which are made of the normal concrete piled by GSIFCON are tested, the test results show that the relative variations of GSIFCON resistance have one-to-one transformations with the destroy processes in the tensile parts and compressive parts, especially in the tensil parts.6. The cyclical loading tests on reinforced concrete beams piled GSIFCON are made. The GSIFCON properties of supervisory and control on the components internal damages under different cyclical systems are examined. The tests indicate that, during 100 times cyclical loading tests, the relative variations of GSIFCON resistance keep high one-to-one correspondences with the components internal damages.7. Based on a vast amount of test results, the conducting model of GSIFCON is proposed, the perfect alert mechanism of GSIFCON is given. All these lay a foundation for the further research on GSIFCON.
