Studies On Qingdao Modern Villa Buildings And Environment (1898 A.D.～1949 A.D.)

Qingdao modern villa buildings and their buildings cluster, occupied importantposition in the formation and process of the city, which was the importantconstitution part of the city appearance characteristic, the city sight, and the citycultural content. The styles of Qingdao modern villas were diverse. Among them,there are many excellent works those were worthy of use for reference. Not only hadthe modern villas a bright characteristic in area surroundings, but also are theyharmony mutually melt with natural environment. At the same time, Qingdao modernvillas, which had various architecture, interior, furniture styles, were severelyimposed by western culture. So they possess higher research value. By now, therehad no professional and systemic study about it.With the high-speed construction and renewal of city, study on region andhistorical culture of city is an important task which mankind protect environment inorder to achieve sustainable development, which is the important historical topic toart design of environment. According to this background, based on much ofinvestigation, with the synthetic theoretical research methods, this thesis systemstudied the art design of environment of Qingdao modern villas in order to find thetheoretical and practical support to the design of the regional people's livingenvironment. At the same time, the study can provide foundation data and decisionbasis.The first chapter is the leading part of whole thesis. It took background andmeaning as the starting. It clearly defined the "villa" and limited the time and thescope of the study. It expounded the content and the purpose of this study, thedomestic and international present condition of this study, and the method of theresearch.The second chapter is the theory basis of whole thesis. It expounded the basicconcept of system theory and typology, and its application in this study.The third chapter researched the background and process of Qingdao latter-dayvillas. It had summed up the relevant factors about city modern architectures such asnature, history background, building legislation, the sequence of urban planning andcity formation.The fourth chapter researched the landscape of Qingdao modern villas indifferent zone. After analyzing its common characteristic, the thesis had focused onthe natural landscape, street scenes, building, and garden of each historical region.Among them, the thesis focused on the Ba-da-guan scenes. At the same time, the thesis makes an assessment from a modern programming viewpoint.The fifth chapter researched the architecture forms and its details of Qingdaomodern villas. Through researching 22 classic examples of modern villas in differenthistorical periods, the thesis studied the characteristic and its change of Qingdaomodern villas in different historical periods by typology.The sixth chapter researched the interior decorative art of Qingdao modernvillas. Researching classic example of modern villas in different historical periods,the thesis studied the characteristic and its change of Qingdao modern villas indifferent historical periods by typology. Through making a summary by investigationof villas and analyzing the classic example, the thesis studied the interior decorativeart and its changes of Qingdao modern villas in different historical periods. Itfocused on the interior interface, fixed furnishings, and furniture etc.The seventh chapter researched the architect and construction company ofQingdao modern villas. Through analyzing personal record and the style of work of11 architect, It provide that how to deal with the relationship between the regionbackground culture and their national culture. The study can be used for modernarchitect in order to region design. Through analyzing the sequence of buildingvillas, and construction companies, and building materials, It provide themanagement levels, technological levels, level of productive forces.The eighth chapter made an analysis of the value of Qingdao modern villas, andthought how to use the value of Qingdao modern villas. The thesis analyzed itsaesthetic value and historical culture value, It expounded the region architecturedesign in Qingdao, which be influenced by the Qingdao modern villas. It expoundedthe thinking of the regional people's living environment from environmental program,architecture and interior design, dwelling district design. It expounded the use of artdesign of Qingdao modern villas in authors instructional practice and interiordesign.Finally, this thesis found the conclusion from the analysis of the progress.
