There are some limitations in the current product innovative design systems.These systems do not support the customers to participate in the innovative designprocess, lack the aided instruments of the shape innovative design for new products,and can not provide adequate knowledge in the innovative design process speciallyfor the concept innovative design. It makes the product detailed design disjointed withthe conceptual design. For the better instruction of the product innovative design andfast response of customers demands, the key technologies of supporting productinnovative system based on knowledge engineering are studied in this dissertation.These technologies are methods, patterns and frameworks of product innovativedesign, the knowledge modeling technologies for product innovative design, thereflecting model and method for whole innovative design, the evaluation model andmethod for product innovative design.This dissertation has obtained the following innovative results:(1) The concepts and characteristics of creative thought, and the commonproduct innovative methods are studied. The mathematical model of innovativeconceiving ability is established on this foundation. Based on the TRIZ theory, thecomputer aided innovative design is studied. Then the application of evolutionarycomputation in the product innovative design is studied in more detail. The basicconcepts of evolutionary computation are defined. In means of evolutionarycomputation, the shape innovative design model for new products is put forward, andthe practical steps of the shape innovative design for rotatory solid products arepresented. According to above methods, the integration of product innovative designmethods based on knowledge engineering is put forward. The standardization in theproduct innovative design process is also discussed.(2) The existing typical product design patterns are analyzed, and the interactiveproduct innovative design pattern (IPIDP-KBE pattern) based on knowledgeengineering is put forward. According to this pattern, the four layers framework ofproduct innovative design based on knowledge engineering is established. And itsmain components and key technologies are introduced.(3) The representative knowledge expressive methods are discussed, and theknowledge expression and storage methods in the product innovative design are alsostudied in detail. On the foundation of the product analytical typical models, theconcept of the ontology technology is introduced; the product knowledge expressiblemodel and solvable model of the whole area based on ontology technology are putforward. Then the knowledge acquisition process of innovative design is discussed,and the acquisitions of the customer requirements and domain knowledge are alsostudied. According to the analysis for the CBR inference and the CBR inference, onenew mixture inference method based on knowledge restraint is presented.(4) The process of product innovative is analyzed and its mathematics model isestablished from the standpoint of the system. Then the function and structure design of the product is researched. On this foundation, a new demand function behaviorstructure (RFBS) closed loop- reflecting model for the product innovation is proposed.In this model customers' demands are considered, and the reflecting method of itseach layer is studied in more detail. Finally, this closed loop-reflecting model isapplied in the design of the automobile steering system, and the application of thisinnovative design is verified.(5) For the complexity of product innovative design process and its multi-layerevaluation, the multistage evaluation model of the product innovative design isestablished. Further the establishment principle of the evaluation index system for theproduct innovative design and its establishment method are studied. To consider therelativity of evaluation factors, a new effective algorithm of fuzzy comprehensiveevaluation is presented. Then one of practical evaluation example for the productinnovative design project based on this algorithm is put forward here.(6) According to the viewpoint of software engineering, the development andrealization of prototype DPIDP-INE system are studied in detail.Finally, the main conclusions for the dissertation are summarized and futurerelevant research work is suggested.
