Modern vehicle manufacturing technology is a concentrated exhibition of modern high-technology fast development. In fact, it is a hybrid product among knowledge of mechanics, electronics, computer, control engineering, material engineering, biology engineering and information engineering. Among this vehicle control technology, computer-controlled PS (Power Steering) gets more and more attention because that it is not only to improve the driver's steering feel, but also to decrease the drive exhaustion as well as to improve the steering function and drive safety. It is to meet the need of safety, environment-friendly, energy-low-consumed for vehicle development to research and develop EPS technology. It also has practical and potential significance for improving the level of our country vehicle manufacture industry and shortening the technology distance between our vehicle manufacture industry and that of other developed country.EPS performance analysis requires that EPS should not only offer controlled steering aided-power in static or slow speed steering situation, but also improve the steering stability at high drive speed to offer enough road feel. In fact, the control technology of EPS system faces such a control object that not only has multi-control goals, MIMO (multi-input multi-output) variable, but also is with some degree of nonlinear factor and uncertainty. The traditional classic control theory faces the challenge to deal with such research object, which is based on precise and linear controlled-object model.Supported by the project of Sichuan province science &technology research fund-"the research and develop vehicle electric power steering (EPS) system (03GG008-001) ", combining modern robust theory and technology, this paper focuses upon the EPS control model with some...
