Steel frame and concrete wall hybrid structure combines a stiff reinforced concrete wall or central core with a steel frame by connections between steel beams and concrete walls. This structure takes advantage of the merits of steel and reinforced concrete, so it has better structural behaviour and can be better applied in high-rise buildings. In this structure, the connection between steel beam and concrete wall are key connection because it play a critical role in concatenating two different structural systems. In this paper, the behavior of connection between steel beam and concrete wall with embedded section steel were studied by pseudo-static test and numerical modelling. The main research work can be divided to four aspects as following:1. The pseudo-static test of the rigid connection specimens. In the test, three specimens with different high strength friction grip bolts or different connecting plates were tested under cyclic loading. On the basis of the test results, the failure mechanism of the connection and the main influencing factor to bearing capacity, ductility and deformability were generalized. At the same time, the stress of every component such as steel beam, connecting plate, embedded corbel and embedded steel column were analysed and some design suggestions were put forward. In addition, the subsidiary stress transferred to the concrete and the distribution bars near to the connection area was also studied.2. The pseudo-static test of the high-strength bolted connection specimens. In the test, five specimens with different high strength friction grip bolts or different bolt-arrangement were tested under cyclic loading. According to the test results, the failure feature, the performance of moment transmission and the stress of every component were analysed, then the resistance to eccentric shear load of the specimens were calculated and compared with the test values. At the end of this part, the paper subsumed the specimens in hinge joint by their bearing capacity.3. The nonlinear finite element analysis about both kinds of connection specimens. In the analysis, the specimens were at the action of one-way loading. By the analysis results, the load transfer mechanics of rigid connection, the slipping status of the joint face between the web plate of the steel beam and the connecting plate, the stress distribution of every component were analysed and were compared with the test results.4. Generalizing the working condition of surface FBG strain sensors and embedded FBG strain sensors used in the test. In the test, FBG sensors and resistance...
