The steel reinforced concrete frame-shearwall structure with a transfer steel truss located at a higher lever is complicated so that its seismic performance is not specific. So it is difficult to design this kind of structure. Though elastic finite element is adopted to analyze its seismic mechanism, methods are not sufficient for structural design. Based on a shaking table experiment of steel reinforced concrete frame- shearwall structure model with steel truss transfer stories and finite element analysis, its seismic performance is studies deeply. In order to evaluate the structural seismic performance, three approaches, shaking table experiment for simulating earthquake, time-history analysis method and static elastic-plastic analysis method, are used in this project.Principal similarity coefficients of the test model are calculated to sufficient for similarity requirement of resisting to lateral stiffness. The steel truss was made of red copper in the model. Destructive forms and seismic responses of model structure in elastic and elastic-plastic phases are studied under different acceleration intensity of table motion during the experiment. It is obvious that transfer stories are weak. However, the shearwall connected to steel truss transfer stories is good and the overall structure can satisfy seismic fortification requirements.Seismic response regularities of the structure revealed by the finite element analysis and the shaking table experiment are similar. While located at a higher level, shear between transfer stories is bigger because of higher modes of the structure. A sequence of generating hinges is studies by Push-over analysis, as well as base shear. Further the structural seismic performance is evaluated clearly by capacity spectrum method.Members section of the steel truss are designed mainly according to vertical load, which earthquake load can not change. However, changes of members stress should be regarded, such as the steel truss members connecting shearwall. At the same time, the steel truss with cross diagonal web members, without vertical web member, is the best project to transfer a big span structure .
