The dynamic load exerting on the pavement coming from the moving heavy vehicle and the dynamic response of the asphalt pavement under the moving vehicle load are thermal topics, which are the bases of the vehicle-road friendly design and pavement dynamic design. Especially, they are the necessary means to explain and to deal with multiple destructions of the asphalt pavement. The technical route integrating experiment and theory means was carried to study the dynamic response of the heavy vehicle and the multiple typical asphalt pavements.The main researches are listed as follows:1. Study on the dynamic wheel load:Using multiple rigid system dynamics, a half vehicle model was established. The influences of the road roughness, axle load, vehicle speed and tire pressure on the wheel load were studied.2. Dynamic response model of visco-elastic multilayer under moving load:Using the differential shape theological equation of the three dimensional and the balance equation and the geometric equation of minute deformation continuum structure, a dynamic model of the visco-elastic finite-layer system under moving load is proposed. The reliability of the model was proved with the test results in field.3. Theory study on the dynamic response of the semi-rigid base asphalt pavement: Exerting moving vibration load studied above, a visco-elastic multi-layer dynamic model of the semi-rigid base asphalt pavement was proposed, and the dynamic characteristic of the pavement was studied. With the results of the theoretical analysis and the experimental results, the key parameters of the semi-rigid base asphalt pavement ware proposed for dynamic design. And the influences of axle load and vehicle speed and tire pressure and the thickness of the surface layer on the dynamic response of the asphalt pavement were studied.4. Theory study on the dynamic response of typical asphalt pavements:Investigating asphalt pavements in common use internal and external,5 typical pavements were selected to study the dynamic performances of different pavement based on several evaluation parameters. It is concluded that the key parameters are different for different pavement. The inverse structure asphalt pavement has good dynamic performance and it's structure is similar with the structure of the semi-rigid base asphalt pavement, so it is suited to the heavy transportation in China. And the influences of axle load and vehicle speed and tire pressure and the thickness of the surface layer on the dynamic response of the inverse structure asphalt pavement were studied. 5. Experiment study on the dynamic response of the asphalt pavement:In view of the complication of road construction and the characteristic of dynamic response of pavement, a sensor was built up which could be used to examine the dynamic response of asphalt pavement under real traffic load. And the experiment to study the dynamic response of mutilayer flexible system was done in laboratory. The experiment to study the dynamic response of the semi-rigid base asphalt pavement under typical moving vehicle load was done in field. And the influences of axle load and vehicle speed on the dynamic response of the asphalt pavement were studied, and the dynamic performance of different layer was studied also.
