Road transport as the infrastructure industry of the national economy, which guarantees that modern society and economy operate and develop normally, is the most important part in comprehensive transportation system. The production and technology characteristics of road freight determines that its market structure is operated dispersedly by small enterprises and single vehicle, decentralized market structure makes transport resources not being used fully. Under the reality that the market structure of road freight can't be changed in short-term, making the reasonable use of the existing resources by changing the organization mode of road freight is the way that road freight will develop. Three kinds of organization modes for resource allocation include market, firm and organization. In our country road freight transport experienced vertical integrated organization by large state-owned enterprise in planned economy period and market organization of decentralized management by single vehicle, which makes transport resources not being used fully. The thesis research on intermediate organization which between enterprises and market how to realize resources optimization allocation. With the emergence of large transport enterprises and large logistics companies, scattered road transport appeared the trend of network and organization, which provides practices for the thesis.This thesis researches on the intermediate organization mode of road freight, the changes of transaction mode and production mode under this organization mode. It has theoretical value and practical significance for allocated transportation resources reasonable, and improved resource utilization. It is an important problem that needs to be studied and solved in the developing of road freight.The thesis uses intermediate organization theory and related theories, such as division theory, transaction cost theory and transaction efficiency theory to analyze the network organization form of road freight enterprises'division and cooperation. Because of the characteristics that road freight market supply and demand scattered, information asymmetry of transport market leads to difficult trading, the thesis analyze transaction mode under intermediate organization of road freight. Main contents of the thesis are as followed:First, the thesis summarizes the development of domestic and international road freight transport. Transport market structure in China and foreign developed countries mainly is scattered transport capacity, and the oligopolistic market structure is formed by different organization mode which is a small number of large enterprises and many dispersed SMEs coexistence in the developed countries,but road transport in China is increasingly distributed under the impact of market. The thesis reviews the related literature at home and abroad, summarizes the research achievements in economic organizations, and finds that there had little theoretical research on road freight organization theory. Related research on economic organization in economics is continuous, but still not used any economic theory to road freight market, not constructed theory analysis framework of road freight organization neither, so we couldn't have any theoretical analysis on road freight organization mode, this is also the space for this paper to research.Second, according to particularity of road freight market, the thesis constructs intermediate organization theory frame of road freight.Which includes the causes of road freight intermediate organizations, elements and organizational structure of the intermediate organizations and network effects. As road freight transport has the characteristics of supply and demand dispersion, core businesses of intermediate organization not only organize and coordinate division of labor and cooperation of enterprise within the network, but also have a middle layer functions between supply and demand. Road freight transport network model is core-periphery organization forms centered of middle layer. Under the action of network effect, intermediate organization structure converges from multi-core network to a single core network in wired LAN.Third, the thesis employs intermediate organization theory to analyze intermediate organization mode.According to the different effects of firms in integrated transportation products, transport companies are divided into basic transport service providers, the primary transport operation integrators and advanced transport operation integrators. Mature transportation operation integrators has the ability to integrate the resources that have spatial scale and time characteristics,which beconm the core of intermediate organizations. Integrated transportation products will need to integrate all kinds of transportation resources, transportation infrastructure network, and information network has become the network connection link of road frieight transport intermediate organizations. Infrastructure networks, information networks, enterprise organization network constitute road freight transport network connections system. Depending on function dimension, form dimension, and operation dimension of road transport organization formed by different development and combination of product, resource, network,road freight transport organization structure has gone from the lower stage, intermediate stage to advanced stage. Road freight transport advanced stage is single core network organization cored on mature transport operation integrators in wired LAN. According to different types of mature transport operation integrators which is the core of the network, road freight transport intermediate organizations show three specific modes which are third-party logistics enterprise production chain, information integration by information platform operators and resource integration by logistics park operators.Fourth, the thesis research on benefit of intermediate organization mode, network core enterprises have the function interlayer of transportation is the. Network core enterprises have middle layer functions, make price forming new market equilibrium, the thesis used game theory to analyze uniform pricing, and concentrated trading by middle layer is how to reduce transaction costs, reduce uncertainty costs in transport transaction process, and improve trade efficiency. Transport middle layers integrate transport resources, form accumulation effect in "gathering area", the thesis used scale economy and time-space effect model analyzed "small businesses, large network" pattern formed by road freight intermediate organization how to improve benefits of transport suppliers and demanders, rationally configurate transport resources.Fifth, the thesis has empirical analysis on road freight transport intermediate organizations. Through intermediate organizations formed by the Schneider company, transportation logistics public information platform in Inner Mongolia, and Transfer logistics development LTD, investigated operation benefit about production chain mode of large third-party logistics enterprises, information integration pattern of public information platform operators, and resources integration patterns of logistics park operators.
