In this paper, seed oil was adopted as main raw material to synthesis the emulsifier with promoter properties. The stable and homogeneous emulsified oil containing 3% emulsifier and 70% water was prepared. The emulsified oil and diesel oil were used as the collector to do the lab contrast test for the 8 kinds of different coalification range coal slime. When ash content of the concentrate was basically the same, it was found that using emulsified oil could obviously enhance the floatation results for the coal slime tested, and the combustible recovery increased by 1%-6% than using diesel oil. According to the floatation kinetics studies of 8 coal samples, it was proved that using emulsified oil could heighten the floatation rate greatly. Through the FTIR analysis, wetting heat, zeta-potential and contact angle measurement, it was indicated that chemiadsorption occured between emulsifier and oxygen-containing functional groups of the coal surface. The non-polar group of the emulsifier was outside, possibly acted as activated pole to speed up the spreading of hydrocarbon oil on the coal surfaces, to promote the floatation.
